Different ways of Promoting Artwork
I need to look at different ways to promote artwork. Some of those ideas would be: business cards; websites, facebook, twitter, instagram, tumblr, etsy, pinterest, depop,
Business Cards
I have decided to look at business cards from different artists and designers for inspiration for promotion of my own work.
Ryan Brinkerhoff
Trading under the name Bandito Design, Michigan-based Ryan Brinkerhoff has a passion for branding, illustration, and poster design and the goal of “finding smart solutions that make people smile”. His beautiful typography-based design was printed by Floridan letterpress specialists Mama’s Sauce. Brinkerhoff used a range of techniques such as a monochrome colour style and bold aesthetic print. The positives of this business card are that it gives information on how to get in contact with the artist and it gives information on when the company was created. However, this card has too much going on within it. There are 5+ different types of fonts on this single business card and this card may be confusing to people who do not live in the USA. OH is the abriviated version of the state of Ohio and people may not understand what that means.

Jose Antonio Contreras
Brooklyn-based designer Jose Antonio Contreras has given people a great reason to hang on to his business card. There’s a cool word search on one side, and the clues are his contact details on the other. It's a wonderfully imaginative idea, superbly executed. Contreras used a simple and plain design techniques that look aesthetically pleasing up close. I cannot find anything positive with this card. I believe that it is more trouble than it is worth. Personally I do not want to look for the artists details in this card; I would not need to search for websites and emails.

Wendy Stephens
Wendy Stephens is a freelance graphic designer and creative artist who works from her studio in Hertfordshire. Going by the name of Dark Iris Design, she has clients across the UK and worldwide. Her quirky blue-black business card highlights her love of typography, with the reverse side featuring a stylised ‘Quick brown fox…’ pangram and a brilliant ‘Very Brief Guide to Typefaces’. Stephens uses simple design techniques with only 3 colours: white, black and blue. The positives of this card are the cute illustrations and the neat and clean look of the card. However, I feel as if this card is too simple and some of the font is too small for some people to see.

Brigada Creativa
Brigada Creativa is a small design and illustration studio based in Barcelona that offers “happy design, unique products and original gifts”. This clever business card shows the shop’s logo grasping a real pencil, and surrounded by inspirational quotes about graphic design. Creativa uses a fun design with a basic colour palette. The positives of this business card are the fun and creative design on the front of the card and the simple design. However, the font used is hard to read and could put potential uses off.

Whiskey Design
Whiskey Design is a small design studio based in Kansas City whose motto is ‘Raise a ruckus’. And these sumptuous, quadriplexed business cards have certainly raised a few eyebrows. Incorporating wood veneer, blind deboss and foil, they were printed by letterpress and silkscreen experts Valhalla Studios. This card uses a modern and fun design technique with wood. The positives of this card are its unlike most business cards and its different. However the font maybe hard to read.
