Throughout this portfolio I want to explore the illusions created by clothing and how clothing does not hold a specific gender.
Idea 1
I want to look at how clothing is constricting and how society has given it human like abilities since it has the power to constrict and choke the buyer. To show this within my photos I will use different colours of shear and transparent fabrics and drape them over the head of my model creating a bubble to hide them from the real world. This bubble is almost a false reality of what over people want them to be like in everyday life. These coloured fabrics will show the emotions my model is feeling on the inside throughout this process.
has a range of symbolic meanings, including life, health, vigor, war, courage, anger, love and religious fervor. The common thread is that all these require passion, and the "life force" that drives passion blood is read. My model is feeling a sense of health and life as well as anger from the construction of this material.

Idea 2
Within this next idea I wanted to create a dominate female figure to contrast the submissive male figure I am going to create in my next idea. By looking at the artist Robert Mapplethorpe I have taken inspiration from him by removing the colour and changing it to black and white. For the photos I changed the colour and made the contrast lower by removing only half of the colour. This gives it a 50/50 look. I then made a second version where I removed the colour completely to see the difference between the two photos hopped images. I also cropped off the parts I didn't like to make the subject more in focus.
Idea 3
I wanted to create some sample ideas with one of my classmates who I dressed as a maid with cat ears. I wanted to use different ideas and poses t contrast my previous idea of the girl in the suit, as I wanted the perspective to be from two different ways. To get these photos we travelled around our college campus to look for areas with different properties. These properties could be: different types of lighting, the space of the area or the perspective it can create for the model. This will help to enhance the overall quality of my photos. I took photos from a range of different angle with different poses. We used different sets from different rooms and tried out both natural lighting and artificial lighting to determine which one is best for my final piece. This means that I can test ideas using: rule of thirds; subject placement; vantage points; framing and composition all within my development to make my final piece better.
