Duane Michals is known for his multiple exposures and photography analysis. Michals was the first to make creative strides in photography during the 1960s. He is inspired by painters such as Rene Magritte and Balthus. Michals addresses literary and philosophical ideas about death, gender and sexuality. He uses multiple exposers, sequences and series within his photography. Michals uses an Argus C-3 camera for sequences. He likes to create a narrative photography as he uses his photography to tell a story.
His work relates to my theme as looks the philosophical ideas about sexuality and gender. Throughout my final piece I want to explore how clothing doesn't have a gender and how also revise the roles in society. I want to create a line/ collections of photos where the clothing for genders are revised. These photos will have the men wearing more submissive clothing and the women will be wearing suits. |
